It’s here. Tomorrow night the United States Women’s National Team will open play in the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics against New Zealand on Aug. 3 at Mineirão Stadium Belo Horizonte, Brazil (7 p.m. local / 6 p.m. ET) Provided of course, no more Olympic sized calamities occur in Rio between now and then, and cancel the games overall.
We’re only half-kidding here. For the sake of the USWNT, it’s great that soccer is not a sport played in outdoor bodies of water. No, Christen Press and the rest of the US Soccer team get to compete in a venue that isn’t overrun with human waste and raw sewage.
As I said during my recent CLTV segment previewing the Olympics, the United States Women’s National Team are poised to make history.

The Chicago Red Stars forward and USA attacking midfielder learned and experienced a lot while on international duty last summer at the World Cup. What did Christen Press learn from the experience of winning the World Cup that she can carry over to this summer?
We have three in-depth interviews with Christen Press for you, with the audio files, via sound cloud, posted here below
