It’s been a very, very long time coming, but the Chelsea Football Club signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko, is finally being accomplished. Bakayoko is at the club’s Cobham training ground today, undergoing his medical and going through the final motions that will make this deal official.
About three weeks ago, we learned that Chelsea were closing on the Monaco midfielder, with an announcement expected soon.
That came on the heels of weeks of speculation and gossip surrounding this deal, and even Bakayoko himself added fuel to the fire with some of his actions on social media.
Obviously, it didn’t happen, and since that time, this transfer narrative was very quiet. Bakayoko, according to Goal, will cost the club £40 million, which is a whole lot of mut coins, so much so that it’s a historical amount. This deal will make the Frenchman the costliest midfielder in club history.
He has been spotted and photographed all around London, as he arrived yesterday at St. Pancras station. He himself also posted a photo at the Chelsea training pitch.

The delay over the Bakayoko deal was due to health concerns about his knee, but it appears those worries have been alleviated.
