Chelsea could be without their reigning PFA Player of the Year N’Golo Kante for their weekend clash at Crystal Palace on Saturday, as the midfielder suffered a thigh injury today. Kante went off clutching his hamstring in the 34′ of France’s win over Belarus tonight, and after the match France manager Didier Deschamps gave an update to the media.
N’Golo Kante is now ruled out for their clash against Belarus on Tuesday.
‘It’s a muscular problem behind the thigh,’ Deschamps said. ‘It is fixed for Tuesday.’
The former Leicester City man has one goal and no assists in seven club games this season. His loss would be a significant setback for a club that’s playing with a small squad this season and is already without their star striker Alvaro Morata.
The Blues will face AS Roma in UEFA Champions League play four days after the league tilt with fellow London club Palace.
