Chelsea striker Diego Costa has 17 goals on the Premier League season. The Manchester United starting XI that he faced off against had 12, in total! Yet it’s United who absolutely dominated today, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the bench, in a resounding 2-0 victory at Old Trafford.
This was probably the worst performance that we’ve seen from Chelsea since Antonio Conte made the switch to a 3-4-3. For United they are now undefeated in 22 straight Premier League contests.
The Red Devils are now four points behind Manchester City for fourth place, with a game in hand on their cross-town rivals. Chelsea are just four points ahead of their intra-city rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, for the penthouse place atop the table.
It was the headliner PL clash of the weekend, and it featured an interesting sidebar- Diego Costa versus Marcos Rojo. The Blues scoring sensation is one of the most polarizing, if not the most polarizing, figure in English football. As usual, he was targeted by many users on Twitter today during the match.
Here is a collection of some of the better (or worse depending on your point of view) Tweets that we saw. No matter your feeling on Diego Costa, you will find these takes, entertaining at least.
Cancel the game and just let Diego Costa & Marcos Rojo have a knife fight in the center circle

Diego Costa is a red card waiting to happen. Get Rojo, Herrera and Fellaini on him. He'll soon get wound up & do something stupid.
