Nathan Ake is reportedly on the verge of joining Bournemouth for a club record £20 million. The Chelsea center back was on loan with the Cherries for the first half of this past season and he obviously made a tremendously positive impact on Manager Eddie Howe. The Guardian reports that:
“A deal has been agreed in principle between the clubs, leaving only minor details to resolve, with Aké expected to sign a five-year contract inside the next 48 hours and join his new team-mates for the start of pre-season training.”
Ake is a 22-year-old Dutchman who reportedly drew a lot of interest from overseas clubs, as well as Premier League rivals Newcastle, West Bromwich Albion, Southampton and West Ham United. This deal will reunite Nathan Ake with Asmir Begovic, who Chelsea sold to the south coast club at the end of last month.
The Blues have also parted ways with Juan Cuadrado, Christian Atsu and Bertrand Traore this summer, with an eye on making some big name acquisitions this summer transfer window. Tiemoue Bakayoko should be the first addition, and that could be finalized any day now. Stamford Bridge has also been heavily linked with Alex Sandro and Romelu Lukaku this summer.
