Chelsea FC, heading into the weekend fixture at Everton, find themselves essentially in the same spot they have been most of this season, and last. They’re mid-table, nothing less, nothing more. It has been a roller coaster run of results lately, but in the end, the Blues are right back where they started/have been all along.
That draw with Manchester City was not the start of a turnaround. Neither was the win over Brighton. We’ve seen a couple false dawns here and there.

Overall, we’re still waiting for the “very good things are coming” that manager Mauricio Pochettino talked about earlier this season. Beating Everton would not qualify as something that fits this category, but it certainly would be much worse if they don’t!

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction at Everton
Robert Sanchez; Marc Cucurella, Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva, Reece James; Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez; Cole Palmer, Mykhailo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling; Nicolas Jackson
Prediction: Chelsea FC 2, Everton 1
