Arsenal FC forward Alexis Sanchez should have seen red against AFC Bournemouth. That’s the point of view espoused by former Chief of Referees Keith Hackett.
In his Daily Telegraph column, Hackett wrote that referee Mike Jones “got three of the four big decisions wrong,” and added: “They are exactly the sort of tackles that we do not want in the game and must be dealt with firmly. I am clear that it should have been a red card.”
Sanchez scored in the 12′ and 91′ providing the two goals that proved decisive in the Gunners 3-1 victory over the Cherries.
Keith Hackett described the play that did get Alexis Sanchez booked in the 62′ as “a dangerous challenge.”
Gunners Manager Arsene Wenger hailed Alexis Sanchez for breathing life into his ‘nervous’ Arsenal side in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth.
After the game, in his post-match interview, Sanchez said he’s very happy about the victory and the opportunity he now has to go home and spend time with his pooch.
