Both are likely to not be available for selection this weekend at Liverpool, meaning the middle of the park will be lacking in depth for Mikel Arteta ‘s side.

That’s because you also have the Arsenal quartet of long-term injury absentees in Thomas Partey (hamstring/thigh), Jurrien Timber (ACL), Takehiro Tomiyasu (calf issue) and Fabio Vieira (groin muscle) to contend with as well.
Of that foursome, only Partey is drawing closer to a return, but it is doubtful that he would be fit enough to be named to the squad.
At this point, one would have to regard these two sides as the co-front runners for the Premier League title. Although saying so would certainly anger the Manchester City fan base.
