We start with the ongoing saga of midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who admitted during the last set of internationals that the club made a u-turn on their offer of an extension.ย The Welshman, who will see his contract expire this summer, isn’t determined to leave the north London club, but at the same time he has not ruled out the prospect of moving to a rival big six club.
Former Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said last month that Aaron Ramsey has the upper hand in contract negotiations and now he will certainly have even more leverage as Bayern Munich have reportedly made a breakthrough in talks to acquire him.
The Independent reports that Bayern “are confident they have won the race to sign” him.
-There are certainly some unsettled centre halves at Manchester United right now, and one who could be on his way out this January window is Eric Bailly. The Ivory Coast international is being targeted by both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, claims the Daily Record.
-And finally, Arsenal midfielderย Granit Xhaka has beenย linked with a move back to FC Basel, and certainly many Gunners supporters might say good riddance on that one. However, if he is going back to Switzerland, it won’t be any time soon.
Xhaka said in an interview withย Basellandschaftliche Zeitung: “My career started here and there is a goal, actually, my dream to return someday. That certainly won’t be the case at 28, I’ll be honest.”
