The 2017-18 Arsenal third kit was unveiled today in Sydney, Australia and the backdrop was eye-catching. The sleek new black shirt isn’t too shabby either. The Gunners are currently down under for their summer preseason exhibition tour, and on Wednesday they revealed they’ll be back in black in ’17-’18 on their third shirt.
The unveil was done in spectacular fashion, with the world famous Sydney opera house and Syndey Harbor Bridge as the background. The Arsenal official Twitter account also made this photo the account’s banner photo.

The real topic of chatter surrounding this unveiling though pertains to Alexis Sanchez and his inclusion in it. The fact that he was such a major part of the marketing is being interpreted as a substantial signal he’ll be back next season. Wenger publicly commented on Sanchez’s future yesterday, saying that the forward never came to him with a request to transfer out of the Emirates.
Sanchez, who has been linked to both Manchester City and Bayern Munich this summer, is not currently with the team in Sydney, because his holiday is coming later than his teammates. He was on international duty with Chile in the Confederations Cup for an extended time, so he’s taking his vacation now.
