Notre Dame Fighting Irish senior WR TJ Jones is adding to the Summer of the Shark. In 2001, Time magazine had a cover proclaiming the “Summer of the Shark.” I think it’s been replaced now by 2013. First Sharknado, with Tara Reid, now a sports network show about shark hunting.
NBC Sports Network presents Shark Hunters, a new 60-minute outdoor fishing show featuring three, long-standing East Coast shark tournaments
As for TJ Jones he had a really cool opportunity at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa, FL. TJ Jones spent some time learning about sharks and learning to dive prior to entering the tank and swimming with sharks. And even though he was inexperienced, Jones said that he wasn’t ever scared.
Notre Dame Coach Brian Kelly was asked about TJ Jones getting in the water yesterday at a press conference
Q. What’s going through your mind when one of your top receivers is jumping in a tank with a bunch of sharks?
COACH KELLY: I was excited to see that. You figure if he is going to jump into a tank of sharks, he’s going to go over the middle without any fear. I was pretty excited it was T.J. Jones in there.
