Notre Dame football keeps losing PR battles off the field under Brian Kelly. There have been numerous black eyes since the Kelly regime began. However, he keeps winning in spite of these scandals. It appears we’re nearing closure on the academic investigation involving five Notre Dame football players. The process has been completed and we may get an answer, possibly this week, on the fate of the suspended.
Kelly is a great salesman and a great face for the program. Part of the reason he’s such a great recruiter. Unfortunately, the top athletes are usually not the top character guys. Week one went well, as ND crushed a weak Rice team into many little pieces, but the schedule gets tougher, much tougher.
This could be one of the hardest schedules that ND has ever faced. Where will they end up when it is all said and done?
Here to break it down with me is someone who is covering Notre Dame football for the ninth season this year. Allison Hayes of Big Ten Network and City36oTV.

So how will the Fighting Irish continue to adjust to life without the suspended players? Who steps in and takes their place? How big is Sheldon Day going to be? How about Jaylon Smith?
Allison Hayes has answers. And the ability to bring the conversation back to Notre Dame football when I, for some reason went off on a tangent about cosmetics and clothing, listen to the podcast below. Which really makes no sense, since I have zero interest in or knowledge of women’s shoes and fashion and stuff like that.
Hey, there was no air conditioning in the building where this interview was conducted; and it messed with my mind. I just hope that I didn’t scare Ms. Hayes too much with that discussion.
