In January 2014, just five days after a postseason milestone with the 100th celebration of the Rose Bowl Game, the Tournament of Roses will host the 16th and final BCS National Championship Monday, January 6, at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium. Will the SEC make it 8 in a row? Alabama will lose a bunch of players to the NFL again, but they’ll have so much coming back they should be right up there again, continuing their dynasty.
Following a press conference held for national champion Alabama head coach Nick Saban in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the 2014 VIZIO BCS National Championship logo was unveiled by BCS Executive Director Bill Hancock.
“The 2014 VIZIO BCS National Championship logo pays homage to the special place we are fortunate to call home along with the architecture unique to Pasadena,” Tournament of Roses Executive Director Bill Flinn stated. “Our community and membership look forward to sharing with the world in welcoming the nation’s top teams and the exciting future ahead for college football.”
The last time a national champion was crowned at the Rose Bowl Stadium was on January 7, 2010, between Alabama and Texas. This will mark the second time the Tournament of Roses has hosted two postseason bowl games in one week.
