Are you one of the lucky few who escaped the brutal Midwest winter to fly to Maragaritaville? By that I mean any place warm. This week everyone is coming back from the college football bowl trips, so the Purdue Boilermakers are trying to at least keep that spirit of mind alive in the cold Indiana winter.
Purdue’s basketball program will host ‘Jimmy Buffet Night’ on Tuesday, Jan. 17, when it takes on the Iowa Hawkeyes in Big Ten action at Mackey Arena.
Fans are encouraged to don their favorite island wear for the matchup with the Hawkeyes, and Purdue Athletics will pass out 10,000 leis prior to game. The best-dressed fans in tropical style will be chosen to compete for prizes as part of the halftime festivities at Mackey Arena.
Expect lots of Parrotheads, a.k.a. very drunk, very white people with middle class, white collar jobs. Also the over under on “I just got leid/laid” jokes is 945, 876.
Hey, changes in latitude, changes in attitude.
Additional details for ‘Jimmy Buffet Night’ are still being finalized and will be made available once completed.
In the meantime keep searching for that lost shaker of salt.
