North Carolina is a favorite in many of your brackets. Your bracket may have just taken a major hit as the Tar Heels suffered another set back today, as their floor general Kendall Marshall suffered a severe fracture to his right wrist. Just as they were getting John Henson back and healthy from a wrist sprain.
Marshall suffered the injury in the Heels’ 87-73 win over Creighton today. But he stayed in the game after the injury, so that’s a good sign he might be available when they take on the Ohio/South Florida winner next week in the sweet sixteen in St Louis.
Or not?
We shouldn’t likely get an update until tomorrow, but the break could require surgery and that would severely crimp the Heels chances, as he’s a huge part of what they do, and their point guard depth is non-existent. Dexter Strickland is out with an ACL, and Larry Drew II has transferred.
UNC is going to need Kendall Marshall to be ready to go, if they’re to reach New Orleans.
