Mateen made such an impression on legendary coach Tom Izzo that H to the Izzo’s son’s middle name is Mateen. And when I was in grad school at MSU, there was also a pizza joint that advertised the “Mateen meal combo.” (And I’m guessing the NCAA wouldn’t allow #12 to collect any dough (and I don’t mean pizza dough) for that endorsement.
