Like the Wu Tang Clan taught us in the early 1990s, cash rules everything around us. In the late 1990s, Puff Daddy informed society that it was all about the Benjamins. Reading transcripts of/listening to The Sports Bank’s exclusive with Quade Green, another 5-star prospect heading to the Kentucky Wildcats next season, evokes both of these iconic hip-hop hits.
Green on Kentucky Coach John Calipari:
“He does it the best. He gets the best players, and they make money at the end of the day. That’s what everybody dreams of, whether you’re media, or a math teacher, you’re trying to make money when you get older. You can’t live poorly, everybody wants to make some type of green.”
“He’s confident, and confident people get very far in life. Look at Michael Jordan.”
We also asked Quade Green why he thinks Kentucky is such a polarizing program (a question we examined in depth at this link, including a great answer from Bill Raftery).
“Because we get the best players. Coach Cal, he gets the best of the best.”
Green also had a great response when we asked him if he thinks Kentucky and Calipari are misunderstood in any way.
“People don’t know how we put think that work in, how much Cal does his job- correctly. Everybody think he threw money to everybody, no, it’s not like that. He do his job correctly. He don’t do nothing negative at all.”

Quade Green is really excited about the Calipari 30 for 30, “One and Not Done,” that debuts on the 13th.
“I can’t wait for that to come out,” Green said.
“I thought it came out last week, I was trying to watch it, and buy it already.”
You watch the trailer for the Calipari 30 for 30, and learn much more about it, over at this link.
Green is considered a five-star point guard prospect by Rivals, ESPN and Scout. ESPN ranks him as high as the No. 22 overall prospect in the class, while Rivals has him at No. 23, Scout tabs him at No. 25 and 247 Sports list him at No. 31.
