It was a rather tame first day of the college basketball super-buffet that is NCAA Tournament’s first day. Well, until the Harvard Crimson broke brackets everywhere and everyone pretended to be a Harvard fan on Twitter for 15 minutes. And then ESPN slobbered all over the Ivy-Leaguers making it even worse. However, the college hoops Christmas gave us this:
The Colorado State superfan, Ram Man, Ram Boy, Ram fan or whatever he’s called. See image below, click for larger view.
So there’s that. This guy really likes his Colorado State basketball. And when the TBS cameras caught him, he became a Twitter/internet superstar among sports geeks. Usually those #8 versus #9 games are the best of the tourney’s first round. You can flip a coin to see who wins. Instead the Missouri Tigers laid an egg, and Mizzou coach Frank Haith looked extremely incompetent. Again Mizzou was dismissed without accomplishing anything. And this time it was just Colorado State doing the dispatching.
And it makes this January tweet from ESPN college basketball guru Andy Katz look HILARIOUS today.
Can’t say enough about how good a job Frank Haith is doing with this Missouri team. This is a new Mizzou era. Buy this team in March.

Uhm….yeah….then again I picked New Mexico in the Final Four, so I have egg on my face today. Colorado State will next meet the winner of the Louisville Cardinals and the #16 seed…whatever, they got Louisville next.
