With fourth-round matchups set, eight of the 16 remaining teams have a McDonald’s All American on the roster. What does that mean? We don’t know who will end up in the championship game, but we have a pretty good idea how it will end:
31 of the last 32 NCAA Championship teams had at least one McDonald’s All American on the roster (2002 Maryland Terrapins were the lone exception)
Of those 31 NCAA championship teams, 97 McDonald’s All Americans were on the rosters (an average of more than 3 per team). There are 25 McDonald’s All Americans on the eight teams still playing in the 2011 NCAA tournament:
