Chelsea FC are undefeated in their last 13 Premier league fixtures, and that streak is a true bonafide undefeated, all victories, no draws. It happened when Manager Antonio Conte made the switch to the 3-4-3, and that line-up is certainly the epitome of “a winning hand.”
Continuity is key, as is team chemistry, something Conte emphasized since the preseason, and the Blues have made fewer changes than anyone else in the Premier League this season. Rightfully so, as they’re now one away from tying arch-rival Arsenal for the league mark of 14 wins in a row. They even have the blessing of Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger to break the record too!
That’s not going to sit very well with Gunners supporters, and neither will this following comment too, in which he pretty much conceded the league title to Chelsea. “At the moment Chelsea are super-favourites to win the league,” Wenger is quoted in The Sun.
“As we say in England, the title is theirs to lose.”
The Blues beat a low table side, Stoke City 4-2 today, and now a different rival, Tottenham Hotspur stands in the way of win #14.
So crank up Auld Lang Syne this New Year’s Eve and raise a glass Chelsea supporters! The hot streak continues; and you have Wenger on the run too.
