Star striker Alvaro Morata returned to Real Madrid from Juventus on a £25 million buyback option. In the past couple years he’s been linked to several clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool. This past summer, Chelsea were linked with a big money move for the very well regarded option in the final third.
Blues Manager Antonio Conte is a huge fan of Morata’s and there were been rumors of the Blues launching a £50 million bid for his services.
Real Manager Zinedine Zidane made comments this past summer dismissing any idea of a deal being in the works, but that was last summer. In 2017, a move could be on; especially with Chelsea striker Diego Costa possibly returning to Atletico Madrid or moving on to China this summer. Reads The Telegraph:
“Alvaro Morata told friends that he expects to move to Stamford Bridge in the summer. Real Madrid striker Morata is the preferred choice of head coach Antonio Conte to replace Diego Costa, who is remains a big-money target for Chinese clubs and Atletico Madrid.”
