Did you ever call a play, or maybe even predict a game score in a college football or NFL contest, and get it exactly right?
You have to left the world know, correct? (By the way, my prediction record in two years of “Brutally Honest Previews” is 44-19, in case I hadn’t told you! And ToldU is a new social leaderboard app that allows users to predict then brag about the outcomes of individual plays of live events. They are really pulling out the stops to make sure that everyone gets a chance to prove they aren’t arm-chair quarterbacks, but they should be standing on the sidelines making the calls instead of the coaches.
Using the #humblebrag Twitter hash tag, and posting on your favorite team’s message boards just isn’t personal enough. It’s too anonymous.
ToldU is personal because you share it with your friends. Specifically, it’s a new mobile application with something special planned for us football geeks this Sunday- our national holiday.
During Super Bowl XLVI, ToldU app users will compete live against their friends and nationwide viewers in a fun, interactive and challenging environment for ultimate bragging rights. ToldU users choose from a selection of possible outcomes, in real time and as it happens during Sunday’s Super Bowl game, risking virtual points based on the likelihood of the event actually occurring. Users win or lose points based on the accuracy and speed of their prediction – giving each user the ability to brag about their expertise in a statistically-derived leaderboard.
“ToldU engages one of the oldest urges in the world: the need to prove that I am better than my friends,” observed Matan Arazi, ToldU’s CEO.
“By playing ToldU during a live event like the Super Bowl, players prove their expertise over a long haul – justifying it statistically. Winners can brag about their calls on Facebook and potentially win prizes.”
And that is what I like most about using ToldU on my Droid Bionic- reminding my friends just how superior I am in sports knowledge. LOL! They are already know, but could always use more reminding. In the near future, ToldU will have additional applications for other sporting & live events, but today it’s primarily being used through the NFL.
ToldU is available for download for free in the Android Marketplace and the iTunes App Store, or visit ToldU.com
