While there is certainly an injury crisis going on at Newcastle United right now, at least it didn’t get worse over the international break (which is more than we can say for several other clubs). Of course, at the same time, it also didn’t get much better. Miguel Almiron and Alexander Isak are both expected to be back this week and passed match fit for the big clash with Chelsea on Saturday.
This will provide an excellent double boost for the Geordies in the final third. Otherwise we have a ton of team news items to discuss, so let’s just dive right into it.

Injuries
Dan Burn and Elliott Anderson (both lower back, with Anderson having a stress fracture) are out until after the New Year. The same could be said for Jacob Murphy are all on target for a return sometime in January.
Meanwhile Matt Targett (thigh) Javier Manquillo (groin problem) and Matt Targett (thigh injury) are all out indefinitely, with no timeline set of return. Callum Wilson is also injured, with fewer details about his situation available at this time.
Suspensions
Lewis Hall is disallowed from facing his parent club while Sandro Tonali is suspended for the rest of the season.
