Before taking to the pitch, Manchester United have already achieved a major win today. Sir Alex Ferguson, the club patriarch, is back at Old Trafford to watch the team that he led to so much glory over the course of his career.
Ferguson, 76, was hospitalized in May, and required emergency surgery after suffering a brain hemorrhage. He vowed to recover and come back to the theatre of dreams one day and that day is now here.

“It’s really good [to be back],” Sir Alex Ferguson said in an interview with MUTV. “It’s obviously been a long journey, but I’m making steps forward, doing what my son tells me and what the doctors tell me, so, yeah, it’s really good.
“I’m a bit nervous, to be honest with you, maybe a bit tense, really, because the last game was Arsenal back in April. It was a long time, but it’s great to be back, and I just hope we get a win today.”

Sir Alex is a top ten trending term nationally on Twitter right now, as it should be. Perhaps his presence will help lift United to victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. United have won three in a row, but all of those contests were on the road. Perhaps today will see United give the home fans what they’re looking for.
