It continues to be a very exciting summer at Manchester United, with plenty of topics to discuss. What offseason, right?
So let’s take a spin through the latest news and notes items making the rounds on the internet today.
-Today’s World Cup knockout round action saw Marouane Fellaini provide the equalizer for Belgium, who came back from down 2-0 about midway through the second half to pull off an incredible 3-2 win over Japan. Nacer Chadli scored the game-winner in injury time.

Now Belgium are through to the quarter-finals, where they’ll face Brazil on Friday. Fellaini was a top trending social media term, and with that came a lot of funny Tweets, memes and graphics.
Here is a very small sample:

Neymar flopped around the pitch like a fish after getting a slight touch to his ankle today.

-The other United player on Belgium, Romelu Lukaku, was also a top trending term on Twitter today, due to the brilliance he showed on the game winning play. It’s a classic end-to-end fast break sequence, and although Lukaku didn’t touch the ball, watch as he really makes it happen by getting the defense to commit to him, and thus creating the space needed to create the finishing touch in the final third.
Watch the breakaway in all its beauty:
That #BEL winner gets better and better. Courtois’ distribution, De Bruyne’s pass, Meunier’s cross, Lukaku’s dummy and Chadli’s run are all inch-perfect. Magnificent breakaway goal.

Belgium have a lot of fans, all across the world, but one of the biggest resides in the United attacking player corps- Alexis Sanchez.
“I want Belgium to win the World Cup for my friend Lukaku,” the 29-year-old said in an interview with Fox Sports.
“We’re very close friends, we always talk and go out for dinner in England. We have a great friendship.”
Also check out how hard Alexis has been training this off-season; he’s clearly motivated to come correct after his majorly disappointing showing last season.
