It will continue to be a very exciting summer transfer window at Liverpool, with plenty of potential comings and goings. During the regular season, Manager Jurgen Klopp made public remarks promising additions beyond Naby Keita this summer, and in Fabinho, we’ve already seen the first one.
The tabloids and back pages are quite busy this silly season, so, let’s take a spin through the latest transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet this Sunday fun day.
-The topic dominating Liverpool transfer talk these days is Nabil Fekir contingency plans. Talks with Lyon over the attacking midfielder broke down at the final minute, and now Anfield must look elsewhere to fill this need.
The Daily Mirror says Liverpool are now keen on Flamengo man Lucas Paqueta, who reportedly carries a £43m price tag. The Mirror reports that “Brazilian outlet CalcioInsider are now claiming that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has turned his attention to Paqueta, who he sees as an alternative to the 24-year-old Frenchman.”
-Liverpool have reportedly agreed on a five year professional contract with their 18-year-old sensation Rhian Brewster. The new deal should keep him in place until 2023, and help ward off outside interest from Germany.
The Telegraph reports that “The striker’s burning ambition had opened up the possibility of him moving elsewhere where he may have been guaranteed a more rapid promotion to first-team football.”
-Finally, Liverpool, as well as Chelsea, could miss out on AS Roma and Brazil goalkeeper Alisson, who seems very likely to be heading to Real Madrid. Indeed the richest of the rich just keep getting richer.
