We saw some extremely frightening moments in the opening minutes of the Manchester United-Southampton clash. United striker Romelu Lukaku butted heads with Southampton central defender Wesley Hoedt, and fell immediately to the grass. He laid on the pitch motionless for close to six minutes, and received treatment from an oxygen mask.
Lukaku had to be taken off via stretcher, and there was a standing ovation from the Old Trafford crowd as the Belgian, carried by the medical team, exited the pitch. He was then replaced in the game by Marcus Rashford.

This looked extremely scary, and hopefully the situation is much better and less serious than it appeared. We all wish nothing but the best, and a speedy recovery to Romelu Lukaku. It’s extremely coincidental, but just yesterday there was extensive talk during Jose Mourinho’s press conference about how Lukaku is tired, and needs rest, but Mourinho says he can’t afford to sit him right now.
Well it seems that Lukaku will be getting some time off now, but of course, not the way that anyone would have wanted.
