Blaise Matuidi is on international duty with France, as the host country and pre-tournament favorites will lock horns with Portugal tomorrow in the 2016 European Championships Title match. While prepping for the Euros, Matuidi commented on widespread reports that he could possibly be switching club teams.
Here’s a link to more on the rumors that he could be moving from Paris Saint-Germain to Manchester United, with any possible deal hinging on, or at least connected to, the transfer fate of Paul Pogba.
Blaise Matuidi predictably towed the party line, reverting to corporate press conference-isms:
“I am living in an exceptional moment that perhaps we will not live again in our lives. I am living it very proudly. I am still under contract with PSG and it stops there.”
Of course, what else is Matuidi supposed to say that in that situation?
He is totally in the right to stick to script, because saying anything else would provide a huge distraction on the eve of the final match against Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal. It appears we’ll have to wait until after the Euros are over in order to move closer to something definitive on this transfer narrative.
