If the Instagram feed of Liverpool FC Defender (for now anyway) Martin Skrtel is any indication, then he’s already mentally out the Anfield door. In the comments section of an Instagram post on Skrtel’s feed the player called LFC Manager Jurgen Klopp a vulgarity. Or maybe you can call this word an expletive.
Skrtel referred to Klopp as a “dickhead,” but soon went into social media damage control mode. The defender, who’s set to move to Turkish club Fenerbahce, claims that the remark was made by another individual who had access to his account, not him.
Here’s the apology he posted on his official verified account. (hat tip Empire of the Kop)
It’s the typical standard response to a situation like this- the “hey it wasn’t me bit.” We’ll never know if he’s lying or telling the truth, but the timing is certainly coincidental here. Not to mention Skrtel could possibly have a motive to trash Klopp like this, given what’s become of his playing time at Anfield this past season.
