Ezekiel Elliott wasted no time in moving on with his life following the #8 Ohio State Buckeyes very decisive victory over the #9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish today. I asked Ohio State Coach Urban Meyer if any of his players have informed him that today will be their final game at Ohio State. Meyer mentioned three.

Q. Coach, has Zeke or any of your other players officially said this will be their last game?
COACH MEYER: Zeke, Joey and Cardale.
Ezekiel Elliott was obviously one of them, and he went out with authority, tying a Fiesta Bowl record for rushing touchdowns with four. He finished with 149 yards and 27 carries.
“He’s a physical back and he definitely made his presence known,” Notre Dame defensive lineman Sheldon Day said in the Fiesta Bowl postgame press conference.
Elliot already figured to be the first running back taken in the 2016 NFL Draft, but today his stock went up like a rocket.
“My first round draft pick I’d pick Zeke Elliott,” said Urban Meyer in postgame.
“I love him. I think Zeke, with all due respect to all the great running backs in Ohio State history, he’s as good a running back as I’ve ever been around.”

Ohio State improves to 4-2 all-time against Notre Dame, with its fourth-consecutive victory over the Irish, including a 2-0 mark in the Fiesta Bowl. Ohio State also defeated Notre Dame 35-20 in the 2006 Fiesta Bowl (in Tempe).
Ohio State is now 5-2 in the Fiesta Bowl and are now tied for second with Arizona State in the bowl’s history for victories (Penn State – 6). The Buckeyes seven appearances in the Fiesta Bowl are more than any other team. To see where we have Ezekiel Elliott slotted in our latest NFL Mock draft, go here.
