It took awhile, and everyone was impatient, but the New York Jets have a new Coach; and General Manager. Yes, your New York Jets have solidified their leadership this afternoon/evening. The Jets have found their replacements for John Idzik and Rex Ryan.
Multiple sources report that Arizona Cardinals Defensive Coordinator Todd Bowles, who just signed an extension, with a raise, with the club in November, is your the new Jets Coach.
Bowles had been a leading candidate this season; with just about every team with a coaching vacancy. He interviewed with the Chicago Bears a few days ago. Bowles deal with the Jets is reportedly for four years.
And the newly minted New York Jets GM? Mike Maccagnan. Word of his hiring was made official earlier today. Supposedly both of these guys are “build through the draft and develop youth” approach kind of men. They fit into an organizational philosophy of rebuild and win gradually. Instead of the spend money on free agents and win now mode. Having a culture clash on this topic is what led to the organization parting ways with their previous leadership.
