Liverpool FC is back on action on Tuesday in the League Cup, hosting Tottenham Hotspur in the Round of 16.
Simon Mignolet will get the start in goal for Liverpool, giving Loris Karius the day off. Manager Jurgen Klopp announced Monday that Mignolet is the No. 2 right now, so it is likely his only action will be in Cup ties, barring an injury for Karius.
There will be changes in the back-four for Liverpool from the unit that started against West Brom on Saturday. Nathaniel Clyne and Joel Matip should remain, with Ragnar Klavan and Alberto Moreno also getting starts. Trent Alexander-Arnold may get the start for Clyne, but changing four out of five defenders in between games isn’t ideal.

There will be some changes in the midfield. Jordan Henderson is suspended for the match due to yellow card accumulation. Lucas Leiva should come in to replace him. Georginio Wijnaldum came off the bench on Saturday, but should move into a starting role against Spurs. The last midfield decision probably comes down to Emre Can and Marko Grujic, and Grujic gets the nod.
Up front, Liverpool FC has numerous options. Divock Origi is a likely starter, having featured in Liverpool’s first two Cup games. Danny Ings, who has featured for the U-23s all season, could get a starting nod as well with the first team. The Reds could go with Sturridge or Firmino out wide, but Coutinho provides more versatility.
