Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has said that midfielder Mousa Dembele could be available for selection Saturday in what might be the biggest North London Derby of all time.
“He has a chance,” he told the Evening Standard. “We will assess him tomorrow after the last training session.”
Demebele has been missing since halftime of Spurs FA Cup elimination at the hands of Crystal Palace. He suffered a groin injury in that one, and should be match fit for Arsenal, it would provide a huge boost for Spurs. Pochettino said that he fears his team could be burned out from over-work, having played three matches in six days.
He also urged his side to respond and step it up against the Gunners. Getting Dembele back would be a nice boost. Especially so with their opponent feeling the bite of the injury bug right now. Both Petr Cech and Laurent Koscielny will be out of action for this one.
