As we’re in the midst of another dull, mostly news-free international break, the huge story of Wayne Rooney‘s severe decline takes on a life of its own. Make no mistake about it, what’s happened to one of England and Manchester United‘s most accomplished and well known players of all time is a huge story.
However, since there’s nothing else to talk about right now, at least not much that anyone cares about, the narrative has taken on a larger than life perspective.
Yes, Rooney’s form has been bad, and yes he deserves to be dropped from the England starting XI, but does he deserve the booing? That’s another debate for another time. Wayne Rooney criticism has gotten so strong that now even his wife, Coleen Rooney, has taken to Twitter to defend him on her official verified account.
Here’s what Coleen Rooney tweeted below:
Love the way Anyone & Everyone has to have an Opinion. Lighten up, life is short, give people a break. Some forget others have feelings too.

Coleen Rooney isn’t the only one taking to social media to defend Wayne Rooney; Chelsea star John Terry did the same on Instagram
