Angel di Maria has spoken in-depth for the first time about his move away from Real Madrid, and his revelations did not disappoint. This is the first time Di Maria has opened up publicly about his relationship with the La Liga giants since he joined Manchester United.
In a revealing interview with Radio America, Di Maria said that Madrid sent him a letter asking him not to play in the World Cup final game as he was an injury risk.
He responded by ripping up the letter and although he wasn’t cleared to play anyway, the fact that Madrid even asked him is indicative of how far his relationship with the club deteroriated.
“On the morning of the World Cup final, a letter arrived from Real Madrid telling me not to play,” Di Maria said.
“I tore the letter up as soon as I read it and told Sabella I wanted to play. It was his choice not to risk me.”
On top of all that, the interview with the Argentine Winger who was just brought over to Old Trafford in a British transfer record breaking deal gave us these interesting comments about Cristiano Ronaldo; adding fuel to the speculation fire that Ronaldo may want to come back to Old Trafford some day.
Ronaldo’s comments earlier this week got this party started.
