The last minute signing of Radamel Falcao on transfer deadline day by Manchester United was a massive coup that no one saw coming. It was an “October Surprise” kind of move, occurring on the first day of September. Now, when will we see Falcao make his Old Trafford debut? It turns out that some red tape administration might be holding up his move.
It’s not as bad as the international paperwork issues obstructing Marcos Rojo, but it’s still a headache.
According to The Guardian, United are trying to fast-track Radamel Falcao’s clearance so the striker can face QPR on September 14.

Falcao’s father claims that the striker wanted to be dealt to Real Madrid, but that obviously fell through. He also claims that his son was pursued by Arsenal this transfer window. And the Daily Mail has a couple gossip pages items today on Falcao:
-Robin van Persie has rubbished claims that his knee problems prompted Manchester United to sign Radamel Falcao.
-Wayne Rooney says the signing of Radamel Falcao is a statement of Manchester United’s intent but admitted he does not know his role in the team
So yeah, it will be interesting to see where he fits in with Louis van Gaal’s 3-5-2 system. Or perhaps Van Gaal might even adjust his system to better accommodate the talents of Falcao
