Rory McIlroy will take both the Wanamaker Trophy – which he won for a second time at Valhalla on Sunday – and the PGA Open’s Claret Jug to Old Trafford for Manchester United’s Premier League Opener with Swansea City on Saturday. McIlroy was invited by United to parade Claret Jug after victory at Hoylake. The golfing star recently saw video relating to him go viral a couple weeks ago.
He had just conquered the British Open at Royal Liverpool. The Merseyside crowd at the Golf Club cheered loudly for the Northern Irishman, as he had just triumphed by capping off a dominant four-day performance.
Then McIlroy said one thing that inspired to the crowd to do a complete 180. Listen to how nasty the booing is:
Yes, the Manchester United supporter once reaffirmed his support, in Liverpool. Which all of us know, you just can’t do. ever. ever. EVER. EVER! Rory knows firsthand the seriousness of the Manchester United vs. Liverpool rivalry.
By the way Rory McIlroy celebrated his win at the 2014 British Open like only Rory McIlroy knows how: by dropping Jagerbombs.
