When Tottenham Hotspur went from AVB to Tim Sherwood, they went from slow and plodding to fast and flamboyant. And in Tim Sherwood they also got themselves a bit of a loose cannon; someone who makes press conferences interesting. That’s a welcome development as almost all pressers are extremely dull and boring.
Sherwood on the other hand, colorfully speaks his mind. And now since he’s a dead man walking essentially, even more so.
Tim Sherwood has nothing to hold back, and he’s clearly managing that way. He’s also speaking that way. His days are numbered, so why be inhibited?
Spurs midfielder Sandro has lost his place in the Tottenham Hotspur squad because he is “not good enough” to get into the team, manager Tim Sherwood said on Saturday.
“He’s not selected at the moment. I don’t think he’s good enough to be in the side at the moment,” Sherwood told BT Sport after his side’s 3-1 win over Fulham at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.
“When he shows me that he is, and he’s at a level with the other players, then he’ll get back in the squad, but at the moment he’s not up to the level of being in our squad.”
Sandro Tweeted his displeasure at being left out:
“Good morning Guys, just to let you know that i’m not injured !”
“Hope that we can win the game today.” he tweeted.
Tim Sherwood’s response:
“He’s got his own reasons for doing it. He’s got a good following. The fans like him here. I like Sandro. I like him as a player.
“But at the end of the day, he has to work hard to get back on the side. I only pick players based on who I think can win the game, and at the moment he’s not good enough to be in the squad, so he’s left out.”
